Kadokawa Announces Exciting New Anime

Kadokawa revealed on Saturday that Umiharu’s popular manga, ‘The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World’, will be adapted into a television anime. This exciting news has fans of the manga and original light novel series eagerly awaiting 2025, when the anime is set to debut.

Background of the Manga and Novel

Based on Hifumi Asakura and Yamakawa’s light novel series ‘Arafō Otoko no Isekai Tsūhan Seikatsu’, the manga adaptation by Umiharu has garnered considerable popularity. The story, initially launched in April 2019 in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine, follows Ken’ichi, a nearly 40-year-old single man who gets transported to another world. His unique ability to access an online shopping site turns his perilous journey through this new world into an attempt to live a leisurely life.

Manga’s Digital Availability and Ending

Fans can access the manga through digital platforms such as Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global, Comikey, and Kadokawa’s BookWalker Global Store. The main storyline of the manga concluded on May 17, with additional side story chapters released in subsequent months. Notably, the manga’s final compiled volume, the eighth, is scheduled to ship on December 27.

Original Light Novel’s Journey

The light novel series, launched by Asakura on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2017, concluded in June 2021. The first volume, published by SB Creative in May 2018 and illustrated by Yamakawa, received positive feedback, leading to the release of three volumes, with the third arriving in April 2019.

Fans of isekai and slice-of-life genres are in for a treat with this upcoming anime adaptation. Stay tuned for more updates as 2025 approaches!
