Marvel, founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman under the banner of Timely Comics, has cemented itself as a core of entertainment that bedazzles one generation after another. As it celebrates its 85th anniversary, Marvel took a look back with the release of video footage that gave a glimpse of its past and present projects.

A Look Back at Marvel’s Journey

The newly released video, up on Marvel’s socials like YouTube, opens with the iconic page flip graphic that all Marvel aficionados know. It contains archival footage of Stan Lee, and clips from interviews with key figures like Kevin Feige, Angela Bassett, and Tom Hiddleston. Stan Lee’s voice stresses the importance of storytelling: “In the comic books, and in the movies, story is always the most important element.”

Upcoming Marvel Projects

The celebratory video also treats fans to first looks at several highly anticipated projects. These include “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Thunderbolts,” “Ironheart,” and “Captain America: Brave New World.” The latter, set for release in February 2025, will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Harrison Ford as Red Hulk.

Returning in that month will be Charlie Cox for “Daredevil: Born Again.” Coming in May 2025 will be “Thunderbolts,” featuring Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Slated for Disney+ in 2025 is the extension of the storyline from last year’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with Dominique Thorne starring in “Ironheart.”

Marvel’s Future

Despite the recent criticisms that the superhero films and series are overwhelmingly played out, the fanbase of Marvel does not seem to be dulled. The words that accompany this video are: “It began as an experiment to create an epic narrative that would become a universe of storytelling. For 85 years, our stories have connected us. We’ve only just begun.” With titles like “Fantastic Four: First Steps” underway for 2025, it sure does look like a bright year for Marvel.
